Our Work
We handcraft fine rustic furniture and accessories, incorporating years of experience, enthusiasm and a deep respect for the other skilled artists and woodworkers we have been privileged to meet. Come view our work!
Our Shop
Originally established as a sawmill and lumber operation, we have been located
in rural Montgomery County NY since 1974. We have evolved over the years from
producing lumber to crafting furniture. Our current shop and showroom occupies
space once used as a lumber drying shed.
Technique
We incorporate the rugged features of sound rustic design, traditional
woodworking practices and appropriate modern innovations. We employ mortise and
tenon joinery and modern polyurethane glue. Finishes include traditional shellac and water
based polyurethane as appropriate to the piece.
Materials
Much of what we use is recovered from brush piles, deadfall trees and land
clearing waste found in local woodlands and fields. We cut much of the wood we
use on our own sawmill, especially the odd and non standard sized lumber.
